| SOLD Contained in this page are photographs of Chithurst Cartshed showing details of its structure, and a drawing showing the structure in its original condition. Chithurst Cartshed is a traditional open-ended cartshed, typical of those built around 1700. It is oak-framed with a superb staggered butt purlin roof. Latterly it had a corrugated iron roof replacing the peg tiles. the cartshed was blown over in a storm, but was cushioned and held together by the iron roof. The frame is in very good condition and is an impressive example of its type.
Beneath are photographs showing that despite the storm damage, the cartshed frame is still in very good condition. Originally stood at: Horley, Sussex. |
